Travel Intermediate Care RN Opportunity in Springfield, Illinois

Protouch Staffing is seeking an experienced Intermediate Care (IMC), Progressive Care, or Stepdown Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Springfield, Illinois. Bring your cardiac monitoring and acute care expertise to a high-acuity environment serving a diverse patient population.

Assignment Highlights

• Specialty: Intermediate Care (IMC), PCU, Stepdown

• Location: Springfield, Illinois

• Contract Length: 13 weeks

• Start Date: November 23, 2026

• Shift: Nights, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM

• Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week; four-shift schedules may also be available

• Weekly Hours: 36

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

• Floating: To like units within scope as needed

• On-Call: No

• Scheduling: Block scheduling requests may be discussed with the manager

• Scrubs: Any solid color

• Charting: Cerner experience required

• Parking: Free parking with a required permit

Weekly Compensation

• Gross Weekly Compensation: $2,213.80

• Taxable Weekly Wages: $946.80

• Potential Non-Taxable Weekly Stipends: $1,267

Compensation is based on the scheduled 36-hour workweek and individual stipend eligibility.

Experience & Requirements

Required

• At least 2 years of nursing experience

• Active Illinois RN license at the time of application; pending licenses are not accepted

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications

• Cerner experience

• Experience in MS/Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown

• Cardiac monitoring skills, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

• Experience with on-unit and remote telemetry monitoring

• Cardiovascular care experience, including post-MI care, cardiac catheterization, post-angiogram care, sheath removal, and TR band management

• Experience with heparin protocols, cardiac drips, and vasoactive drips, including titration

• Central line, PICC, arterial line, and port management

• Blood product administration and IV starts

• Feeding tube care and management

• Pre- and post-hemodialysis care and renal failure management

• CVA care and surgical drain management

• Chest tube management, CPAP/BiPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula

• Wound care, wound vac management, and isolation precautions

Preferred

• Previous charge nurse experience

• Teaching hospital experience

• Level I trauma experience

• 562 staffed beds

• Acute care hospital and Level I trauma center

• Magnet-designated facility

• Average daily IMC census of approximately 38

• General onsite telemetry

• High-acuity patient population requiring cardiac monitoring and complex nursing interventions
