Protouch Staffing is seeking an experienced Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week assignment in Des Moines, Iowa. This opportunity is ideal for an L&D nurse with experience caring for high-risk obstetric patients and providing antepartum, labor, and delivery care.

Assignment Highlights

• Location: Des Moines, IA

• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks

• Shift: Nights, 7 PM - 7 AM

• Schedule: 3 shifts per week

• Hours: 36 hours per week

• Weekend Rotation: Every third weekend required

• Holiday Rotation: Required

• Call: None

• Floating: Required across campuses to maternity units, including Postpartum (PP), Mother-Baby (MB), and Labor & Delivery (L&D)

• Scrubs: Hospital provided

Unit & Clinical Details

• 45-bed unit with 2 operating rooms

• Patient ratios: 1:1-2

• Patient population includes high-risk OB, antepartum, C-sections, and vaginal deliveries

• Experience with magnesium, insulin, and Pitocin drips

• Approximately 150-350 deliveries per month, depending on campus

Weekly Compensation

• Gross Weekly Pay: $2,818

• Taxable Weekly Pay: $1,404

• Non-Taxable Weekly Stipends: $1,414

Experience & Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience

• Labor & Delivery experience required

• Antepartum and C-section/vaginal delivery experience required

• Postpartum/Mother-Baby care experience preferred

• Current or recent high-risk OB experience in a Level I trauma facility highly preferred

• Current or recent high-risk OB experience required

• Intermediate or Advanced EFM/AWHONN certification accepted

• Epic experience required

• First-time travelers are not accepted

• Must have completed at least one travel assignment within the previous 12 months

Pay Details

Advertised gross weekly compensation is based on 36 scheduled hours and includes taxable wages and potential non-taxable stipends. Stipend eligibility depends on individual circumstances and applicable tax regulations. Actual compensation may vary based on hours worked, residency, and assignment terms.
