Travel RN - Emergency Room (ER)

Shift: Nights
Hours: 3 × 12-hour shifts (36 hours/week)
Pay:

• Gross Weekly: $2,321

• Taxable Pay: $1,026/week

• Non-Taxable Stipend: $1,295/week

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Travel RN - Emergency Room. The facility is a P4 trauma center and a STEMI and stroke receiving center, treating approximately 70-75 patients daily.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care to infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.

• Manage medical and surgical emergencies, sepsis, trauma, overdoses, and respiratory conditions.

• Monitor cardiac dysrhythmias and administer critical care drips, including TPA, sedation, and paralytics.

• Manage patients requiring BiPAP, CPAP, and mechanical ventilation.

• Perform radial arterial blood gas (ABG) draws and monitor bedside cardiac rhythms.

• Coordinate patient care with physicians, mid-level providers, respiratory therapy, and ER technicians.

Requirements

• Active RN license.

• Prior travel nursing experience is required.

• Strong critical care skills and experience managing critically ill patients.

• Experience with critical care drips, cardiac dysrhythmias, and mechanical ventilation.

• Radial ABG draw experience.

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

• TNCC is preferred but not required.

Unit Details

• 28-bed emergency department, including two designated trauma/code rooms.

• Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:4.

• Separate triage and psychiatric/seclusion rooms.

• ER technicians assist with EKGs, transportation, CPR, and vital signs.

• Respiratory therapy is available 24/7.

• Nurses are responsible for reading bedside cardiac monitor strips.

Schedule & Additional Information

• Night shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM.

• Every other weekend required.

• Rotational holiday coverage with core staff.

• Block scheduling is allowed.

• No on-call or floating requirements.

• Navy scrubs required; solid colors only.

• Orientation includes hospital and nursing orientation, computer training, and two 12-hour preceptor shifts.
