We are seeking an experienced Travel RN for a 13-week Stepdown assignment in Rockford, Illinois. Candidates should have strong cardiac and critical care skills, including IV drip titration, telemetry interpretation, and experience caring for patients with complex medical conditions.

𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀

Location: Rockford, IL
Contract: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts
Hours: 36 Hours/Week
Unit Size: 23 beds
Patient Ratio: 1:3-4
Call: Not required
Orientation: 1-2 shifts
Scrubs: Any professional scrub color; scrubs are not provided

𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience

• Experience with tracheostomy care

• Experience with BiPAP and other respiratory support

• Stroke and cardiac patient care experience

• IV drip titration experience required

• Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips

• Must be willing to float throughout the hospital, excluding the ER and OB

𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

• BLS (AHA)

• ACLS (AHA)

• NIHSS (AHA only)

𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀

• Common patient diagnoses include stroke, cardiac conditions, sepsis, and surgical cases

• Drip titration includes heparin, nitroglycerin, Cardizem, Levophed, Cardene, Precedex, and others

• CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen are used on the unit

• Monitor technicians observe rhythms and rates; nurses are responsible for interpreting strips

• Charge nurse coverage is available 24/7; the charge nurse generally does not take patients but may when needed

• CNAs are utilized on the unit

• Weekend and holiday rotations depend on unit requirements; every other holiday may be required
