Radiology Technologist - Travel Contract | Tulsa, OK
Location: Tulsa, OK
Contract: 13 Weeks
Start: ASAP
Shift: Days
Schedule: Friday-Sunday, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM
On-Call: 2 days per month
Required
BLS through AHA
EPIC EMR experience
ARRT-R certification/registration
2 years of work experience, including at least 1 year as a traveler
Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program
Preferred
Trauma Level experience
Job Summary
The Radiology Technologist operates radiology equipment to produce diagnostic radiographic images. The technologist positions patients and equipment, adjusts exposure settings, performs X-rays according to established protocols, and ensures patient safety and quality care.
Key Responsibilities
Retrieve radiologic orders and enter related information into the electronic medical record.
Prepare and position patients for radiologic procedures and provide clear instructions.
Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation.
Operate specialized radiology equipment according to established protocols.
Perform radiographic procedures in areas including the ER, fluoroscopy, inpatient units, surgery, Children's Hospital, PACU, Endoscopy, outpatient imaging, clinics, and other assigned locations.
Obtain high-quality radiologic images using CR/DR techniques and protocols.
Follow radiation protection practices, including beam restriction and patient shielding.
Maintain and troubleshoot radiology equipment and report malfunctions appropriately.
Complete preventative maintenance requirements and maintain equipment inventories.
Maintain examination rooms and stock required medical and radiologic supplies.
Follow infection control policies and procedures.
Follow appropriate protocols for reactions to contrast media and provide first aid when necessary.
Participate in required training, in-services, education, and quality/process improvement activities.
Maintain professional standards consistent with ARRT, ASRT, and department requirements.
In inpatient settings, assist with monitoring patients during procedures involving moderate sedation, as appropriate.
Ensure informed consent has been obtained before procedures when required.
Participate in Universal Protocol and procedural pauses for invasive procedures.
Provide patient care in sterile environments under appropriate clinical guidance.
Demonstrate independent judgment when planning the sequence of technical operations and resolving routine issues.
Communicate effectively with patients, customers, healthcare professionals, and staff.
Work effectively both independently and as part of a healthcare team.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience, including 1 year of travel experience.
Working knowledge of digital radiography (DR) and/or computerized radiography (CR) equipment, techniques, and protocols.
EPIC EMR experience.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers and healthcare professionals.
Ability to work independently when required.

Education
Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program - Required.
Certification & Licensure
ARRT-R (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Radiography) - Required.
BLS through AHA - Required.
