We are seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse for a 13-week Stepdown assignment in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. This opportunity is ideal for nurses with strong cardiac care skills, telemetry experience, and the ability to manage and titrate cardiac drips.

𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀

Location: Uniontown, PA
Contract: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts
Hours: 36 Hours/Week
Unit: Stepdown / PCU
Unit Size: 28 private beds
Charting System: EPIC
Scrub Color: Navy blue, including jackets if worn
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Friday/Saturday/Sunday nights)
Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday, following the permanent staff rotation
Orientation: 2 shifts with a preceptor
Floating: May float to ICU as helping hands
Block Scheduling: Available

𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience

• Stepdown / PCU experience

• Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythms

• Ability to titrate cardiac drips

• Experience caring for patients with complex cardiac conditions and dysrhythmias

• Comfortable caring for patients with CVAs and patients downgraded from the ICU

𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

• ACLS

• BLS

• NIHSS

𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀

• Patient ratio: 1:4-5; Med/Surg acuity may be 1:6

• Telemetry monitoring available; nurses must read and interpret strips

• Drip titration required: Cardizem, nitroglycerin, dopamine, dobutamine, and heparin

• Insulin infusions are set-rate only

• No sedation drips

• Respiratory support includes BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen

• Hospitalist available in-house 24/7

• Intensivist available in the ICU from 7:00 AM-7:00 PM, with on-call coverage after hours

• Respiratory therapy and pharmacy available in-house 24/7

• No dedicated IV team; ICU charge nurses or the ICU director can assist with difficult IV access

• Day-shift charge nurse has no patient assignment; night-shift charge nurse may have an assignment

• Nurse aides available on day and mid shifts; no CNA coverage after 11:00 PM

• Heavy cardiac patient population, including dysrhythmias, CVAs, and patients transferred from the ICU
